November 14, Charlotte Moore, co-founder of the of the acclaimed Irish Repertory Theatre interviewed Angela Lansbury for the League of Professional Theatre Women’s Oral History Project.
Angela Lansbury’s career in entertainment is eighty plus years and going strong. In 1944, she launched her career in Gaslight with Ingrid Bergman. Thirteen years later she made her Broadway debut with Bert Lahr in Hotel Paradiso. For over five decades, Ms. Lansbury was married to the late film executive Peter Shaw, whom she describes as “the most wonderful husband” and “the most handsome man.” She has been the recipient of an Honorary Academy Award for her lifetime achievements in the industry, and in April 2014, Lansbury was named Dame of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth.
